Introducing.. Latest additions to our team
Over the last few months we have been delighted to welcome some new and talented instructors to our team. Namely, Pete Hughes (also flies Tiger Moths and a former differences student of ours), Joff Hicks (based out of Seething and Old Buck and most recently, Garth McCormick from Belfast.
Garth has been based in Manchester for the majority of the last 20 years having learnt to fly at Newtownards in 2008 and says of his varied career to date:
“my low boredom threshold means that at various times I have worked as an economist, astrophysicist, civil servant and, most recently, physics teacher.”
Having studiously avoided photographs all his life, you will have to come and meet Garth in person!
As many of you are aware we have had several success stories recently with many of our instructors heading off to ‘proper jobs’ in the commercial aviation sector. Sam Keogh, Stef Gonzalez to Iberia Airlines, and of course Jay Sadri (former company instructor) is busy with his type rating for Titan. Although you may see Jay every now and then knocking out some loops in the Extra 200..
We feel that we have just the right combo of old and new (in every sense!) with our instructors and are also able to offer an environment where you can have informal chats with both commercial pilots (such as Mark Evans, Rob Bryce Smith, Arwyn Jones) and those currently undertaking commercial training (or soon to be!) – Invaluable to student pilots!
We are thrilled to have such great additions to our rich and diverse team with an ever growing and varied skills base. Everything from PPL through to advanced training in Aerobatics, Tailwheel and the instrument rating on our CBIR course.
Last but not least our newest administrator and fellow PPL student Sarah Glover is settling in a treat! 🙂
So next time you’re in look out for one of our new guys and gals!
