IR (R) Ground School this Autumn

We are now planning our next series of IR(R) Ground School classes!

These sessions are ideal for supporting pilots in their IR (R) studies – so be quick to book in!

Designed to prepare students for the IR(R) Ground Exam and reinforce the theoretical knowledge required to successfully complete the training, these informative and involving sessions are hosted by one of our resident ‘IR Gurus’;

Alan Evans, right here at Cambridge Aero Club!

The course is split over 4 sessions 1800-2030, normally each around 2.5 hours and we can accommodate 2-3 students (so places are limited!)

We are happy to offer our extended PPL Theory Program, Aero Ground School, with various options available to suit every learning style.

Here at Cambridge Aero Club we understand that all students have differing needs and approaches to learning.

Whilst some are happy to prepare for their exams through self-study alone, others prefer to benefit from classroom-style instruction and discussion with highly experienced flight instructors ahead of sitting their exams. In essence, this is why we run the Aero Ground School program through various formats, offering both one-to-one and group options covering all 9 subjects:

•Intensive program: 6 consecutive days £1190 (one to one £1490)

•Scheduled program: 6 Days scheduled over 2-3 months £1190 (one to one £1490)

•Clinic (one to one) £30.00 ph

•Exam only £252 (members) £287 (non members)

East Anglian Air Ambulance – Basic Life Support training session with Cambridge Airport based EAAA Paramedic: Mark Milsom

Thursday 1st Nov 2018 1600-1800 at Cambridge Aero Club

This fast-paced session will last about an hour and cover:
• Introduction and facts/figures about out of hospital cardiac arrest
• Chain of survival
• DRsABC (primary assessment of casualty)
• CPR explanation and demonstration
• Hands-on CPR practice techniques on latest Bluetooth-enabled manikins
• Introduction to defibrillation and use of AED (defibrillator)
• Practice in using an AED (training version)
• Recap and questions
The trainer, a current EAAA senior Critical Care Paramedic, will also ‘bust some myths’ about using an AED

So long to our Flying Legends GA visitors!

It’s been a busy few days at Cambridge Aero Club and GA Centre! With Duxford Imperial War Museum having its annual Flying Legends Air Show. We have been welcoming visitors from across Europe for what turned out to be a fabulous weekend, which also marked the 100th anniversary of the RAF.

It’s fair to say we had an eclectic mix of pilots who were all in high spirits ready for the big display!

We’re recruiting dedicated Instructors to join our Team!

Cambridge Aero Club is a commercially thriving ATO, currently seeking suitably qualified part time & full time Flying Instructors.

Operating out of Cambridge Airport, our successful instructors enjoy hour building opportunities, rating advancement and type crossover opportunities. This includes a part funded Extra200 Aerobatic Instructor qualification or Instrument Flight training advancement for the right individual.

We are welcoming CVs from applicants seeking FULL TIME employment, PART TIME applicants will also be considered.

We ask for part time instructors to make a minimum commitment of 4 days per month, to include at least 1 weekend day. Full time roles are suitable for career minded, disciplined individuals with a friendly and enthusiastic personality.

With such a fantastic commercial airport environment, these positions should be of particular interest for those wishing to progress onward to a commercial or private airline role.

Key duties will include tutoring adventure flights, PPL, G1000, Night, Currency and Differences training in our Cessna172SPs.
